Redemption—to change for the better, reform. Can someone be changed for the better? Reformed? The question is fascinating.

What if the person being changed is actually a thousand-year-old vampire who is quite happy with his life the way it is, that is until a certain woman shoves her way into it and threatens his livelihood and his very existence.

The theme of redemption is one I wanted to explore in my latest Samhain Publishing release—Damek’s Redemption. Damek is a vampire who is a loner by nature and choice. His only friends are a pack of werewolves and they are more close acquaintances than actual friends. Damek suspects they’d turn on him in a heartbeat if it meant saving their own skins. He expects betrayal at every turn and has insulated himself against the possibility over the years.

Damek is a creature of great power and struggles each passing year to retain a shred of his humanity. Most days he doesn’t even believe there is anything there to try to hold on to. Sonia Agostino is a creature of light and love. She is close to her family and trusts them implicitly. She knows she can always depend on them to have her back. When the two of them meet, their beliefs and ideals collide. Add in the sizzling hot sexual attraction between them and you have a recipe for one hot romance.

When old enemies and betrayal put them too the test, will Damek revert to his old mistrustful ways and destroy his one chance for love? Or will Sonia’s trust and belief in him and in love show him the path to redemption?
