So...what’s the best way to see America?
Let me know your thoughts in a comment and leave your e-mail
addy. I’ll be picking one commenter’s name on Friday from all of my posts the
next five days at The Romance Studio to receive the darlngest-ever cowgirl
angel pin from carla’s Angels! (http://www.carlasangels.com/)
Well...I’ve flown lots of places including Boston, NYC, Omaha,
Chicago, San Antonio, London, baby. Leaf-peeped throughout New England. Taken a
guided tour of the historic sites of the east coast on a fancy bus. Driven
Route 66 (well, to Kingman AZ). But one of my best times ever was a wagon train
around the Tetons!
Kinda reminds me of Book One in my series from Pelican Book
Group.
Here’s the blurb for Hearts Crossing Ranch. (I won’t bore
you with an excerpt. They take too long to read. For an excerpt and other
particulars, click here: http://www.pelicanbookgroup.com/ec/hearts-crossing-ranch
)
A beautiful city slicker and a rugged cowboy…The perfect
Wild West adventure. Cowboy Kenn Martin bears the guilt for allowing a coach to
ruin his younger brother’s bright athletic future. Feeling unworthy of any
happiness, he’s lost his faith in relationships and in God. When he meets
Christy Forrest, he begins to hope for redemption but soon learns his past
mistakes aren't something she'll easily forgive.
On the Colorado wagon train adventure planned by her late
father, landscape designer Christy Forrest seeks to find peace in the nature
she loves. However, she can't let go of her anger at the drunk driver who
killed her dad—or the woman who did nothing to stop the man from driving.
Falling for Kenn Martin begins to lighten her heart…until she realizes the
handsome cowboy carries heavy a burden all his own—a burden she’s not sure she
can accept.
Okay? So what’s your
thought on the best way to see America?
Hugs,
~Tanya Hanson

I love seeing America by car. When I was 9, my parents loaded up us kids (my two brothers and me)into our station wagon, hitched up a trailer we rented, and we were off for a grand circle tour of the U.S.A. Since we started in San Diego, we continued east - all the way through to Florida. Then we went north, to New York City; headed back west again, stopping in Seatlle; then back down the coast to home. Six weeks. Stuckey's. Campgrounds and ear infections and Texas twangs and Georgia drawls. The magnificence of the nation's capitol, and the rush and tumble of NY - rivers and bays and lakes and then Wyoming. It was the most magical trip I've ever taken, forever emblazoned in my memory.
Thanks for asking, lol!
Since I don't like to fly...I'd say my favorite way to see America is by train or car.
You are a new author to me and I am looking forward to reading your books. By the way...the cowgirl angel pin is darling! Love it!
Blessings!

Hi Tanya!
My husband would say the best way to see the US is on his bicycle. Yes, you read that right. Bicycle. I laughed. Next he'd say on a motorcycle. Again, I laughed. I think by car is good! Also on those fancy tour buses! :)
Years ago I heard about the covered wagon trips and thought it would be fabulous to take our teens on a trip like that. Unfortuanately, no one but me in our family was game to do it.
You have great photos, Tanya.
The pins is adorable.

Cher :-)
The DH and I just returned from a trip to Chicago to visit our daughter and since I flew in on business earlier than him, and he trained in, we opted to take the train back together, and it was a delight. All kinds of neat scenery and all the comforts of home. :-) Blessings to you, my sweet friend, and keep up the great work! Love your books!!! <3
We've been visiting campgrounds across California and it has been so beautiful! Your books are always such great reads! Thanks for sharing this!
Hi Christine, I don't mind being a car passenger but I don't like to drive. Go figure LOL. Thankfully hubby spent a career driving fire engines so he's a pro.
Oh heavens, I remember an ear infection when I was a kid on a camping trip to Kings Canyon. Ooooh ick.
Oh, Wyoming. Surely God created it last! Heaven. Thanks for posting today! xoxox
Hi Judy, so good to see you here! I love the angel pin, too, and got one for my editor as well. I hope you win and I hope you like my books.
I love taking the train to see my daughter and her little baby boy. I can just chill for 2 1/2 hours and now, with WiFi, even take the iPad sometimes.
Hi Lynne! I know what you mean..when I saw that wagon train trip featured in Country Living Magazine, I thought the fam would pooh-pooh me to death. Hubby fell totally in love with the idea, and convinced his sis and bil to go along. It was the time of our life!
Bicycling, ah. I love trundling around my boring neighborhood but wish I did it more...then I wouldn't be so fat LOL.
See you soon.
Hi Cher, the pin is too adorably cute. When my hubby went into remission (over four years now) he got nurse-angel pins for the oncology staff...those nurses truly are angels from heaven to do what they do with such hope, light and love.
Thanks for the post, my dear friend!
Hi Marianne! I noticed those FB pictures. Chicago sure is a stunner.
I love the train, with a place to snack and to, well, use the facilities without having to find a gas station! I so appreciate you stopping by today! xoxox

The pin is really cute!
I'm not American, but I love the small town, apple pie, baseball, tall glasses of lemonade view of America. :)
Hi Raquel, we love California, too. In fact, our local beach park, which was scheduled for closure, managed to get the donations to stay open and we plan our second-annual Family Camp out this fall, with all the kids and grandkids. Thanks for the compliment, and for stopping by today! I so appreciate you.
Hi Patty, I'm having a tall glass of lemonade right now! So glad you came by today!
I love road trips. My dad used to take us on mini trips each Sunday and I have the most wonderful memories from those days.
Tanya, I envy you all your travel. I have been a lot of places, but there are still so many others I want to see. I think a tour is nice because it frees both my husband and me from driving, hauling luggage, etc. We would like to go to Ireland again, though, and just rent a cottage for a month and get a rail pass. I'd also like to drive Route 66 from Chicago to LA, but my husband is less than enthusiastic so I won't push it. There are too many places we both want to see.
