A kid at heart

That would be me.

Some people say cartoons are for kids. Comic strips are for kids. Christmas is for kids.

Uh, I don't say that :).

I love cartoons. Even before I had children, I went to see cartoons regularly in the theater. Beauty and the Beast is one of my favorite movies. I love the beauty of the animation and the breathtaking story. Catchy songs don't hurt either. My kids are balking at seeing cartoons now because "they're too old." I say, "Bah. I'm not too old." You can bet I'll be going to see Pixar's Brave when it opens.

I love comic strips. I'm a little worried it's a dying art form :( but I really hope not. I have the entire For Better or For Worse collection by Lynn Johnston. I have various books with Fox Trot, Baby Blues, and Calvin and Hobbes. A friend of mine and I agree, we ever hit the lottery, we are buying the entire collection of Calvin and Hobbes. And then there is Snoopy. I'm a Snoopy-holic. I collect Snoopy stuff. I love his dance and his alter-egos like Joe Cool and the WWI Flying Ace.

Christmas is often touted as being for kids. I disagree. I think it's for anyone who finds wonder in the holiday because of why it's celebrated. I love lights, decorations, lights, getting together, lights, finding that perfect present for someone. Did I mention lights? I love the Christmas tree. I used to lay under and stare up at the tree for long periods of time. Still do. Just have a harder time hopping up than I used to ;)

My aunt has always said, "You're only as old as you feel." I turned forty last year. In ways, I do feel old. LOL. When Girl Scouts is having it's 100th anniversary and you remember it having the 75th, uh yeah, a little old. My kids tease me about being old and I know they really think I am. I'm their parent after all. But in a lot of ways, I feel young at heart. I think not giving up things I enjoy just because they are "for children" is part of that.

What do you enjoy that's kid stuff?
