Change

By Janet Quinn

Today is the day for certain websites to be shut down. Not that I go to those all that often but there is a big black mark over Google on my Internet page. I have trouble remembering to check my Facebook or post anything on it. I now have a Facebook button on my Kindle Fire, so maybe that will help.

My baby kitty, Count Rugen, is growing by leaps and bounds. His tail is nearly as long as his body. I know it is longer and fluffier than my dog who weighs 90 pounds.

The new year is starting out pretty well. I got a lot of writing done on A Chance for Love, my time-travel, between Christmas and New Years. I have also managed to write some every week, which is my goal. I want the book finished and uploaded to Kindle.

I also read an article by Debbie Macomber in the Guidepost magazine. Every year she picks a word for the year. Then she tries to use that word to improve things. I can’t remember any of her words. I thought I would try it this year. So my word for the year is change.

There are lots of things that one can change. I want to change my priorities when it comes to work and make sure the writing is one of them. I haven’t done nearly enough writing the last two years. I also want to change my eating habits. Since my son went on a diet and I don’t cook anymore so I am not always eating properly. I also want to change and exercise more. These are a lot like resolutions, but the key to remember that they are changes to be made.

I also have a list of goals I want to complete this year. Those are different. Those are things that need to be done.

I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas. I read the reviews and they all seemed to be terrible. No one seemed to like their Fires. I am still learning to use mine and some of what it can do, I won’t use. I will never word process on it. The keyboard is too small. But besides reading, I can check my e-mail and I have games. I can also load documents, which I really don’t see a need for, but I can put pictures on it. Now I can carry pictures of my babies with me. I am having a great time learning everything it does. I had to get a stylus though. My fingernails get in the way of the touch pad.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to the new year.
