ENDINGS & BEGINNINGS

I guess this is not the normal type of blog that appears on The Romance Studio site, but I needed to say thank you to quite a few people here. I deliberately put “Endings” first in the title for this blog, rather than the other way around as appears to be the norm. Because for me, I had to go through the ending first before I could begin over again. I’ve learned to do a lot of things for myself now I’m on my own. I’ve learned to pave and now my pool area has a lovely paved area where I can sit outside with my laptop and get some work done. I’ve learned to use a nail gun. Very satisfying that was, pounding away at the new fence that had to go up. Very good for stress relief. Lol I now know how to use the electric drill without spearing myself. And if I need to, I can change the oil on the car. Although one very important thing I learned there, was to get your face out of the way real quick once you unscrew the cap under the vehicle. Talk about a messy business.

I’ve learned a lot of new things about myself this past eight months. I’m stronger than I thought I was, both emotionally and physically. I’ve developed an independence that I never dreamed was possible. Yes, I still have those moments where I feel crippled emotionally, but I’m getting there, and it’s with the help of a lot of you in cyber land. So a heartfelt thanks to my writer friends, those I already knew and the ones I’d never met who contacted me after my hubby died. I never felt alone through all this because you were all out there reaching out a hand to me.
My thanks to the readers who continued to buy my backlist even though I’ve had very little come out in the past twelve months. More importantly, the emails I received from readers. Wow, it was astounding and that contact kept me going. My thanks to Holly here at The Romance Studio for giving me time off to get my head together. That lady is a treasure.

I always knew this community was special, but now I know just how special. Romance readers and writers are awesome. I’ve seen it before and now I’ve experienced it for myself. So my heartfelt thanks to you all. Y’all rock.
