I always find that I am most reflective in the autumn, when the seasons change. Somehow in the spring I'm too busy with new gardening, getting out, new hobbies... in the autumn, life sort of slows down and I get a chance to look back and make plans for the future.
I had 5 books out this year -- 3 in the Deadly Landscaping
series, 2 that I self-published, and I had one re-release of an e-book that went into print. That's a lot to juggle along with moving, my day job, a possible lawsuit, adjusting to a new city/state/zip ... yep. Lots to juggle. And you know what? All of those books released before July 1 -- talk about busy! It seems like last year they came out, not this year. So much has happened since July -- forget about books, I'm talking life and events in my life!
So whenever I tell myself I'm slacking off because I don't have a book to promote, I just think back lo those many months ago ... when I had 3, 4, or 5 to promote. It pays sometimes to take a look back and count up what has happened. And to look forward to the 4 books I'll have out next year ... the journey continues! If you're curious about my year's endeavors, check my web site right here. And here's some pretty covers, just to whet your appetite ...
