WHAT'S IN A TITLE?

It's the first thing that catches your eye...after the sexy man on the cover of course.

This came to mind after watching the news tonight. Basically I realized how powerful a title could be when the meteorologist said the word 'Thundersnow" instead of just a simple "Snow storm".

Which one makes you stop and pay attention. My new book Solstice Heat started out as 'My Brothers Keeper'. Now while that tile may inspire some curiosity it doesn't inspire the fire that the word 'Heat' does.

Lots of people say don't judge a book by it's cover and while I wholeheartedly agree with that I am quite guilty of judging a book by the title. Some titles draw me in and make me read on to see what it's about while others.... I pass right by them without a second glance. Are you guilty of this too? Judging a book by the title?

Maybe that's why I have such catchy titles... A Chance Encounter or Pleasuring a Pirate... Even my first purely erotic book Stealing the Show is kind of catchy. What titles have drawn you in and why?

Hi, I too am caught by catchy titles. I also like books in a series where characters from previous books appear again of coruse in minor ways.

Good post!
