The new year has started and I am already behind on my goals. I got behind the first week and have not done much to stay on top of things. Leaving my job the end of December was more upsetting than I thought it would be. I really miss it.
I did start a new book the first week of January. I have not figured out a title for it yet, but I did start writing it. I managed to get eight pages done in two days, which is slow for me, but it was a start. Then I got the pages mixed up with the essays I was grading for my online teaching job I have and deleted the eight pages.
It took me three weeks to start over. I am finally back to where I stopped the first time, but it is a page shorter. I guess everything wasn’t important.
The story I am working on is my alternate universe story which I think I have talked about before. Pax, a New York City detective, is chasing a man who he thinks is a serial killer through an alleyway. His partner is coming in from the other entrance of the alley. What he doesn’t know is that the man is really a wizard from an alternate universe. Just as he is about to capture the man, there was a darkness, then a flash of light. Suddenly Pax is somewhere new and being held immobile by Sasha, a peace officer in her universe. They are about to embark on chasing the man together.
Chewbaca, my dog, has taken up helping me again since I have been sitting at my desk more. I cannot spend the whole day on the couch with my laptop. Makes my back hurt. Chewbaca always has wanted me to play ball with him when I am at my desk. It is amazing how fast he returned to his previous behavior. He wants to help me write and grade papers. He just thinks he is so cute.
