Some very talented writers pace the floor awaiting their checks while in the distance we spot a crowd of authors waving their new contracts high above their heads. And there they go. They’re off, forming a long line behind another new publisher in hopes of finding something extraordinary.
Give me a break.
I watch industry blogs and shake my head. This may come as a shock to some writers but there are several sensational publishers out there paying their authors a nice lump sum whenever author royalties are due. We need to acknowledge these publishers and remember them when we submit our manuscripts. Email me if you want a list of recommendations.
Authors are independent contractors so we have the right to choose where to submit but we have an obligation to ourselves and our families to research where we send our work. Why not submit to established publishers first? If you're new to the business, that's precisely where you should start. To learn more about the income you can expect to make in e-publishing and to read the rest of an extensive post on The Justified Rants of a Full-Time Writer, join our discussion by clicking the cover image below.
In the meantime, let me share a cover with you. I couldn't wait to show off the first cover right here at TRS. Take a look and let me know what you think of Patty Foltz's design from Way2Kool Designs. Oh and don't forget, Destiny Blaine Productions rolls out the red carpet this fall bringing new life to some of your old favorites. Watch my blog and website for details.
