By Janet Quinn

It is my day to blog and for the first time I have total writer’s block. It has been one of those weeks where things have not been going very well.

Not wanting to be depressing, I have a couple of animal stories. My son Tom has sleep apnea and has these two tubes that attach to his nose. It is a strange looking contraption. Last night he was laying on the floor because his back hurt. In this house, the floor belongs to Chewbaca, the dog. I tried doing my back exercises once on the floor. Chewbaca decided to sit on me, all 95 pounds of him. So, last night Tom’s on the floor and Chewbaca is laying beside him, creeping closer and closer to Tom, sniffing at the tubes. He’s been curious ever since Tom brought the contraption home. Pretty soon Tom was getting a bath and finally had to give up and get off the floor. Then Chewbaca had to follow him and sit next to his bed to make sure that everything was fine.

I had to move the cat’s food and water bowl onto the nightstand because she couldn’t reach it where it was. Teddi is sixteen, half deaf, mostly blind, and often confused. She seems happy though. Of course, a dog of Chewbaca’s size can reach the nightstand and eat the cat food. His biggest treat is to get to lick the cat food can when it is empty. He lays on the floor and looks like he is in heaven. So I had to build a barrier to keep Chewbaca away from Teddi’s food. So, I put the vacuum cleaner in the way. Now, Chewbaca views the vacuum as this great, scary monster who is going to eat mom. So, now, every time he goes in the bedroom, he attacks the vacuum. It’s a good thing I need a new one because he’s putting holes in it.

Next month I promise to have something to tell about my new book.

If you haven’t gone to my website and entered my contest, I have held it over until Saturday, August 7. I am giving away great prizes. So go to www.janet-quinn.com and enter. I am giving away short stories that go with my latest release, Freedom’s Treasure release from Amber Quill Press.
