Picture perfect! And this shot will probably never happen again. All three of my babies cuddled up together on my bed. Now a days I might find two of them together but rarely all three. All of my life I've been an animal lover. Until two years ago I was a dog person. I'd never had a cat or even thought about getting one until a friend from work begged me to consider a baby stray. She tamed him and was able to get close enough to capture him and after pitching how beautiful he was I told her I'd give him a try. With a return guarantee.
Rufus, the gray tabby in the picture is affectionately known as Woofy and the thought of giving him back didn't enter my head the moment I turned him loose in my house. He was such a scared, distrusting little fellow. Because he had a wild streak in him it took about 2 months before he was totally at ease and trusting of us. By then I couldn't wait to add to our cat family!
The girls followed. Gin Gin, the calico, was a tiny baby when we adopted her from the SPCA. She's a whopping 17 pounds now! Curious, independent, a big baby when I take her to the vet. Too cool to be cuddled...unless she wants it.
Jezebel, otherwise called Jezzie, came a year later. We adopted her the day she was brought into the humane society. Her coat is like black velvet and she has the prettiest gold eyes. She just turned one in December. She's an 8 pound, little trouble maker always picking on Gin Gin. She likes to sleep on me and many times during the night she'll gently slap my face with her paw to wake me for a pat.
All three have their own distinct personalities. And they bring us so much joy and entertainment. I'd always heard cats were independent and unfriendly creatures but don't believe it for a minute. Yes, they are independent but they're very low maintenance but I'll never be lonely with a cat around. Right now I have one on the back of my chair, one resting across my chest and the other at my feet. Woofy made his debut in "IT'S ALL IN THE JEANS", my first torrid romance with Whiskey Creek Press. He actually has a big part in the story, much to my heroes dismay. If you haven't checked the book out yet here's a little bit about it below.
Blurb-
Logan Knight is staying with his grandfather while recuperating from an accident that killed his two best friends. He needs time to heal his body and his heart from the tragedy. Libby Turner is on a hell bent mission to keep her grandmother out of an assisted living facility, even if it means masquerading as a seventy-year-old woman.
From the moment the two meet sparks fly, and they can't keep their hands off each other. The only problem is, neither is looking for a relationship, so they come up with an outrageous solution. Can they stick to their plan of keeping their relationship strictly sexual, or do they give in to the overwhelming love that threatens to claim their hearts?
