Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
I hope all of you have a great day on Thursday with family and friends.
This will be the first time in more years than I can remember that I am not having family at my house for Thanksgiving. My middle son and his wife are having Thanksgiving in their new house. It should be interesting since my daughter-in-law doesn’t cook and my son has never cooked a turkey before. The rest of dinner is being brought by others.
As the holidays approach, I have been taking stock of everything that didn’t get done last year. My list of goals is still too long and there isn’t time to finish many of them. Also, two of my sons left home this year, but never moved out. I am trying to get them to take some of their stuff with them so I have some room. It is getting better, but there is still too much of their stuff left. I told the middle one that he had a garage now, so he should put his stuff in it. His reply was, “But, mom, my garage is clean.” And no one can get into mine.
I am going to finish Sam’s story, Freedom’s Treasure. It’s a historical romance about a character from The River’s Treasure, Sam. It has an underground railroad background where Jubilee, with whom Sam has fallen in love, keeps getting him in trouble helping escaping slaves. I am down to the last two chapters, have been since June when I hurt my back. However, I am rewriting the first 21 chapters, running them off, putting them into a binder so I can give them to my sister on Thanksgiving. It works better in a binder since her cat likes to help her read and throws the pages on the floor.
I figure I can mail that last two chapters to her. After she reads it and tells me what needs to be fixed, off it goes to Amber Quill. Then I am celebrating.
This back thing is becoming annoying. I am getting better at getting things done, but I am still tired all the time because of the pills.
I did take the day after Veterans’ Day off from work to write. I wrote 16 pages that day, which made me happy. It was the first time I had gotten anything done lately.
I am still hoping to mark off a few goals for this year before I have to set new ones for next year.
